Important festival on Ashtami 2022
Krishna Janmashtami is the most popular festival observed on Krishna Paksha Ashtami of Bhadrapada. Durgashtami vrat observes on Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha every month. On this day, devotees worship Durga Mata and perform a full-day fast. The main Durgashtami is called Mahashtami; falls during the nine-day Shardiyya Navaratri in the month of Ashwin. Durgashtami is also known as Durga Ashtami and the monthly Durgashtami is also known as Masik Durgashtami. Kalashtami and Radhashtami are also the most important festivals of Ashtami.
Krishna Janmashtami
Krishna Janmashtami is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna which falls in the month of Bhadrapada (August/September) on the Ashtami tithi (date) of the Krishna Paksha. It is also known as Krishnashtami, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Srikrishna Jayanti, and Sree Jayanthi. It is not only celebrated in India but also marks an extravagant festivity in other corners across the world.
Masik Durgashtami
Durgashtami comes once a month and hence it is called masik Durgashtami. Keeping fast and worshiping Maa Durga(NavDurga) on this day has a very special significance. It is believed that on this day, whatever you ask for with true heart and reverence, Durga Maa definitely fulfills his/her wishes.
Durgashtami
Ashtami has the highest importance in Chaitra Navratri. On this day, devotees worship Kali, Mahakali, Bhadrakali, Dakshinakali, and Bijasana Mata.
Worship method of Durgashtami
On the day of Durgashtami, keeping fast on Durgashtami and worshiping it with full legal practice gives you desired results. On the day of Durgashtami, you should wake up early in the morning and take a quick bath, after that, purify the place where you worship by putting Ganga water. Also, place a statue of Maa Durga on it by laying a red cloth on the wooden board. Also, read the text of Durga Chalisa by lighting incense and lamps and then perform the Aarti of the mother, after that, pray with folded hands, Durga Maa will definitely fulfill all your wishes.
Kalashtami
The Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of the month is called Kalashtami. It is also known as Bhairava Ashtami. This day is dedicated to worshiping Lord Bhairav. He is called the fifth incarnation of Shiva. Also, they have two forms, Batuk Bhairav and Kala Bhairav. By worshiping Kaal Bhairav, one can get rid of the effects of planets like Shani and Rahu. Kalashtami vrat removes obstacles, misfortunes, and boons with good luck.
Offer lemon garland
By placing black urad, black sesame, and 11 rupees in black cloth, offering it to Lord Bhairava remove all the negativity of the body. By offering lemon garland to Lord Bhairav on Kalashtami; the desired fruit is obtained.

Radha Ashtami
Ashtami of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is known as Radha ashtami. On the day of Radhashtami, the devotees circumambulate the Gahvar forest situated on the high mountain of Barsana. The festival begins with religious songs and kirtan.
Radhashtami Puja
- You should observe the fast with a clean mind.
- Bath Radhaji’s idol with panchamrit. After bathing, Install the deity with proper rituals.
- Worship Radha Ji with reverence and devotion during the mid-day.
- Perform aarti and offer the bhog at the end.
- You can worship Radha-Krishna jointly on the day of Radhashtami.
On this day, the leaves of 27 trees and the water of 27 wells are collected in temples. Finally, there is the consecration of “Shyamashyam” with many Vedic Mantras from Mana Panchamrit. The person who performs this fast with full rules gets rid of all sins.

In the Vedas and Purana; Rasha is praised as Krishna Vallabha and Krishnapriya. By listening to the Radhajanmashtami story; the devotee becomes happy, rich, and all virtuous. They are chanting devotionally the mantra of Shri Radha Ji as well as providing remembrance salvation. If a person does not worship Shri Radha; then he does not even have the right to worship Shri Krishna. As Radha Ji is the presiding deity of Lord Shri Krishna’s life.
